How to Play

How to Play

Touch or drag adjacent letters to build a chain. Letters may connect horizontally, vertically, or diagonally.

The selected letters appear in the word row in the same order. Selected tiles stay visible on the board with a light gray background.

You can keep extending a chain, or tap a tile in the selected chain to drop that tile and everything after it from the chain and the word row.

When the word looks ready, tap Check. A valid word turns those tiles into cage posts. An invalid word clears the word row and ends the turn.

Rules

  • A word must use 2 to 10 adjacent letters.
  • Letters can be adjacent horizontally, vertically, or diagonally.
  • A tile cannot be used twice in the same chain.
  • Once a letter has been moved in the word row, that chain is locked and can no longer be extended or trimmed.
  • Clicking Check ends the current turn whether the word is valid or invalid.
  • A valid word converts every tile in that chain into cage posts.
  • New cage posts stay on the board and connect with black lines to nearby posts in the same row or column.
  • The Crown is trapped when it has no route to an edge or corner of the board.
  • When the Crown is trapped, you can only choose tiles inside the enclosure.
  • If there are no two or more adjacent open tiles left for the first player, the game is a stalemate.
  • If the Crown is trapped and the first player makes three straight invalid plays, the game is a stalemate.
  • The Daily Puzzle uses the same board for every player on the same date.
  • Daily progress and the final result are saved on this device.
